What is STOL?

Shortest takeoff + landing wins.

Pilots compete to take off and land in the shortest combined distance β€” judged head-to-head, scored in feet. Part airshow, part motorsports, and 100% American aviation: it’s the most precise sport in the sky, and it’s happening right outside Nashville for two days in October.

Vendors & Food Trucks

Set up shop on the flight line.

We’re building the 2026 midway now β€” and we’re looking for food trucks and local vendors to serve the crowd on both days, Friday and Saturday. Last year’s competition drew 1,300+ aviation fans, and spots are limited.

Food Trucks

Serve a hungry, captive crowd through a full competition weekend. Tell us about your truck, your menu, and your power/space needs β€” we’ll take it from there.

Local Vendor Booths

$7510’Γ—10′ booth Β· covers the entire event, both days

Put your business in front of the whole weekend crowd. Add 10’Γ—10′ spaces as you need them β€” or bring your airplane with an Aircraft Booth/Static Display ($150).

Fans & Spectators

Getting here & getting home.

Two ways in, one way out that works for almost everyone, and free parking for all. Give the map thirty seconds now and you’ll skip the line on Saturday.

Set your GPS to
806 Castle Heights Ave, Lebanon, TN 37087
Not “200 Aviation Way” — that address is on the far side of the field, with no way through. And don’t come down North Castle Heights Ave through downtown, even if your phone suggests it.
Open in Google Maps
Map of the two routes to Music City STOL: from I-40 Exit 236 via Franklin Road, and from US-231 via Leeville Pike, both ending at the Castle Heights Avenue entrance, with the return route heading south to Exit 236. Tap to enlarge

Route A From I-40 · Nashville side

  1. Take Exit 236 — South Hartmann Drive
  2. Right onto Franklin Road, about 900 feet north of the interstate
  3. Left onto Castle Heights Avenue, 1.1 miles along Franklin
  4. Entrance is a half mile up on your left — follow the signs and our volunteers in

Route B From Lebanon, US-231 or I-40 East

  1. Head north on US-231 — from Exit 238, or join it in town
  2. Left onto Leeville Pike, 1.3 miles up US-231
  3. Left onto Castle Heights Avenue, 0.8 mile west on Leeville — entrance is a half mile down on your right

Parking & heading home

Parking is free, and there’s far more than we need. Volunteers will put you in a row — please take the spot they point you to. The rows are why everyone gets out quickly.

Nearly everyone turns right leaving the airport: south on Castle Heights, right on Franklin Road, straight back to Exit 236. Headed north or east? Officers will release a left-turn lane up to Leeville Pike. Either way, not north into town.

Saturday is the one to plan for. The lot empties all at once after the last round, around 3:30. In no hurry? Give it fifteen minutes and you’ll drive straight out. Friday’s practice traffic trickles out on its own.

Friday, Oct. 9 — gates 10 AM, practice 11 AM – 3 PM  ·  Saturday, Oct. 10 — gates 9 AM, competition 10 AM – about 3:30 PM  ·  Kids 12 & under free
